New trim levels for Volkswagen Electric Range of passenger vehicles

With ambitions of introducing half a million electric cars into the UK annually by 2025 it was always going to be a big challenge for VW, having sold quite a bit short of 400,000 in 2023.  2024 presented new models and designations, such as the ID.7 and ID Buzz LWB to help bolster the market share.  2025 Presents an opportunity now to fine tune those models with fresh and better specified trim levels and batteries.

Volkswagen ID.5 New trim levels for 2025

We are starting with the coupe, the ID.5.  Currently available as a Match or Match Pro, the new trim level includes a 4-wheel drive motor capable of 0-62 in just 5.4 seconds (same as an older Aston Martin V8) The battery is big and lengthy, dragging out as many as 327 miles under the right conditions.

The interior is boosted as well, with the inclusion of the Assistance pack plus, electric memory seats with a massage function, 360 camera and more.

Volkswagen ID.4 New trim levels for 2025

Next up is the ID.4 the younger but roomier brother.  More popular with people who have dogs because of the boot entrance, despite it being ever so slightly smaller in actual size.  The current trim levels again were the Match range, but now you can add the Match Pro 4Motion, which as the names suggests gives you four wheel drive and the GTX Edition to bring the maximum in terms of performance.

The Match Pro design starts at around £46k, offers 326 combined range and still hits 0-62 in well under 7 seconds.  19" alloys are standard, as are heated front seats, electric boot opening (Tailgate), rear view cameras and loads more.

The GTX Edition starts at just over £52,000, with a lower range of 319 and 0-62 in 5.4 seconds.  The alloys go up to 20 Inch, the cameras become ariel view, panoramic sunroof is standard along with an absolute abundance of features that make this trim level the absolute standout.

Volkswagen ID.3 new trim levels for 2025

Last but not least is the baby of the ID Range of cars, which now includes 5 siblings in total.  The ID.3 was the first to market for Volkswagen to be built on its own purpose made platform.  Launched in 2019 the model was well received due to good drivability, as well as a good battery.

New trim levels include Pure essential and Pure Match, £30k and £32k respectively.  Both come with a 52 kWh battery which under the best conditions could net you as much as 240 miles - and its rapid to charge too with 10-80% in just 25 minutes.  Both come with 18" wheels, but only the Pure Match gives you the alloys.  The steel wheels on the Pure Essential are disappointing and alloys are not an upgrade listed on the VW configurator at the moment.

The Pure match also comes with built in navigation, rear view camera and 2-zone climate control.

The top of the pack in the ID.3 is the GTX Performance, with a big and powerful battery, loads of kit and 0-62 in just 5.7 seconds.
