Cupra have played it pretty safe so far. Taking marque model names direct from their Seat ancestors, the Ateca and Leon are stylish and spicy versions of the Spanish brand well known across Europe but especially in the UK.
The first Cupra Formentor order books were opened in the UK back in September 2020 as the brands feature crossover, featuring a range of petrol manual and automatic engines, as well as hybrid variants and some 4wd top range topping specials.
The Cupra Born was....born around 18 months later in May 2021 and brought the brands first all electric vehicle to market, competing with likes of the E-Golf. It preferential range and stylish looks elevated it to "cool" status amongst company car drivers that wanted the super low BIK rates along with the style they desire from employer supplied motoring.
